SJ - Most organisms have about 99% of the same genome. It is the miniscule difference, ie how you and I share about 99.9% of the same, that make all the difference. Being able to understand these differences is key to curing a lot of diseases, including genetic ones. The wooly mammoth thing came up sort of like just a test to see if they could accomplish it with an extinct animal and they had good samples to use, which isn't usually the case since the animal by definition isn't around to provide one! I look forward to visiting Jurassic Park in 20 years!!! :)

Steve - I think we've learned from multiple unnecessary sequels that Jurassic Park is never a good idea. Of course this come out right after Michael Chricton dies. Who will be the voice of reason now?

I am appalled that so many in my generation are ready and willing to roll over and be sexually assaulted (and let their children be sexually assaulted), give up their rights to privacy and ignore their rights as stated in the 4th Amendment all in the name of supposed security at airports. Adventures in waiting around

I'm waiting for my next live hit (15 minutes from now). I've been training to go live on the air for the past three days. The first part right after you've got your interview is a bit nerve racking. You've got to put it into your comp, edit down the sound bytes, send your best bytes into the system we use (4 good ones), then write and voice a tease, then write a lead, and of course write your story, and have all the tech stuff (sound levels, etc) good to go before you get on the air. But after all that there's a little down time after the first hour (and so here I am). I'm currently parked out in front of the KSL studios in the truck with my equipment. I took some time a bit earlier to lay down for 5 minutes under a nearby tree on the edge of the parking lot. Hello Again

I've been conspicuosly absent from this site and thought it was high-time you all got an update. This last week's been an incredibly busy one. My series on Polygamy (The Real Big Love) debuted on the Nightside Project . They played it again several times in the morning and pretty much plugged it all day. Some people are talking award-winning. I really enjoyed putting it together, too. I also got to shoot one of my interviewees with an airsoft gun and we had our Nightside one year anniversary since we've officially been on the air. We're marking that celebration with a fun show tonight. We're pretending to pull archived tape of stuff we've done through the decades. I made mine on Who Shot JR. Oh, and one other thing I'm not supposed to mention, but I'll mention to you. They're talking syndication. By the end of the month we'll broadcast the show on our sister stations in Phoenix, Seattle, and (just for you east coasters) WTOP in DC.
