An article of my faith

"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may." (Articles of Faith #11)

For those who have just stumbled on this blog and don't know what the above statement is all about or where it comes from , it's from a Mormon religious text known as the Thirteen Articles of Faith. They are the basis of the main tenants of the Mormonism.

Now, apply all that to the proposed Ground Zero mosque and this is my take:
If we only support the First Amendment when other religions agree with ours then what good is it? Freedom to worship here in America is part of what makes ours such a blessed nation. It supports my right, in my own religious faith as a Mormon, to openly practice and pray to the God I believe in within my home and within any numerous chapels and temples across the nation. I am surprised at some of my fellow Mormon members, and especially those who are a part of my faith that are political leaders (Romney, Reid) for not supporting another persecuted religion's right to the First Amendment privileges. We must allow that right to others, to Muslims. Again, as it says in my own religious texts "let them worship how, where, or what they may."
