Human Being

Welcome to the Human Project. I am a human, you are a human. Perhaps, like me, you are also a project. I am sitting in my office cubicle, working for the man. I look very busy as I type away. But really, I'm on my blog. I know I should be working, doing something really, really productive, but I've finished all my tasks, and I'd rather be writing anyway.

There is a little note card I have hung/stuck on my cubicle wall. It reads, "I am a human being, not a human doing". Next to this sentence there is a colored picture of a woman in a white yoga-looking outfit, lotus-pose, in front of a tree. I have no idea what it means. It bothers me that I don't know what it means. It's supposed to be this great profundity and I have put it on the walls of my cubicle and it is supposed to inspire me. Well it does. For some reason it does. It makes me relax. It makes me think all is maybe okay with the Universe. Universe, are you okay? You seem okay.

Maybe it means all is okay with me, that I don't have to go, go, go all the time. I like this idea. I'm much more a type B. Breathe in, breathe out. Ahhhhhh. Ya, I could do that for the rest of my life, I think. But I still have no idea what that @#*! card is trying to say.

If you would like to tell me what you think it means I welcome your submission. Submissions may actually be published on this very blog.

Submission guidelines:

1. Be creative
2. Don't try to tell me what font or size or shape, or whatever your submission should appear in. I will just post it in the same font as everything else on here because that's what Blogspot does for me already.
3. There will be no monetary payment should your submission be published (but perhaps a good ego stroke will suffice).
4. Above all, remember the subject for which you are submitting your material-Help me figure out the meaning of life-er-why I'm a human being, not a human doing, or maybe why you are a human being and not a human doing.
5. Read poem below for inspiration.
